Senior Accountant

A Bermuda-based investment firm requires a Senior Accountant to perform cradle-to-grave accounting for investment funds.  This is a newly-created “hands on” position requiring meticulous attention to detail.

Primary

• Daily reconciliation of security trades and cash  

•  Prepare monthly accounting records (G/L’s, investment schedules, F/S)  

• Prepare investment schedules  

• Oversee the accounting functions  

Secondary

• Prepare audit working papers

• Develop and implement internal accounting procedures  

• Prepare board materials including financial analysis  

Other

• Act as office manager  

Primary

• Self-motivated.  Ability to work independently without direct supervision in a small office environment with regular tight deadlines  

• Recognized accounting designation (or working towards one)  

• Working knowledge of Canadian GAAP for investment funds, mutual funds, finance companies or banks  

Secondary

• Experience with preparing regulatory and security commission filings

• Willingness to infrequently work long hours, weekends and public holidays as required to meet deadlines

• Strong computer skills (Microsoft based)

• Familiar with Canadian corporate tax

•   Good communication skills
